Mase is 4 months !! Ahhhhh :D
I can hardly believe my sweet little babe is four months old today. It feels like just yesterday he was a tiny ( yes he seems tiny to me now looking back haha ) 10 pound newborn laying in my arms..Now he squirms all over, smiles and laughs constantly, and loves rolling over onto his belly :) He's growing so fast I can't take it. I couldn't feel happier or more blessed to be his mommy.
Height/Weight: Mase weighed 20lbs and was 27 1/2 inches long at his 4 month checkup today !! Holy cow....My big boy !! He's in the 99th percentile for both height and weight :)
Routine: I'm finally working hard at getting Mase on a schedule. So far, so good but it's a work in progress. We have great days when we're just hanging at home but when we go out and run errands he tends to sleep more in the car so we sort of get off track, but it's okay, totally worth it getting to hang with my little nugget everyday :) Right now Mase wakes up around 6 or 7am and usually nurses back to sleep until 9. Then I change his diaper and get him dressed for the day. He spends time on his tummy in his crib while I clean up a bit, do laundry, etc. Then he'll nurse. Afterwards Mase rolls around on his play mat for a bit or sits in his bouncer while I shower. After I'm finished getting ready for the day Mase nurses again and then takes his first nap. He usually sleeps about 40 minutes to an hour and after that we take a walk or have more play/story time. Then we either run errands or continue with some tummy time. Mase nurses again and then takes his afternoon nap around 3 or 4. We have more playtime followed by nursing and then we start our night time routine. Around 7 I give Mase a bath and a massage with his favorite burt's bees lotion. Then we get cozy and turn on his sound machine & projecter and I nurse him in his rocking chair until he falls asleep.
Sleeping: Mase is still sleeping through the night, however, we've had him sleeping in our bed since he was born and I'm currently trying to transition him into his crib, which is so hard !! Right now he takes all of his naps in his crib, unless we're out running errands then he usually sleeps in the car. At nighttime I'm putting him to bed first in his bed and each time he wakes back up I nurse him or rock him back to sleep and put him back in his crib UNTIL or if wakes up around 11pm, then we take him into our bed with us. Baby steps...baby steps. ha. The goal is to have him sleeping in his own bed every night by 6 months, so we're working on it.
Eating/Feeding: I am so proud to say that Mase is back to exclusively breastfeeding !! He's become such a nursing champ, I couldn't be happier :) I nurse him on demand and anytime he wakes up throughout the night I nurse him back to sleep. It works perfectly for us so far :)
Sizes: Mase is wearing 9 month clothing and size 2 diapers :)
Milestones: Mase has amazing control of his neck and head these days and is holding his head up so well !! He still needs some support but he's getting stronger every day !! He also rolls over from his back to tummy constantly, in fact he HATES being on his back. As soon as we lay him down he turns over haha. He reaches for toys, does baby push ups when on his belly and answers to his name !! He has also started teething and is drooling and chewing on everything !! Such a big strong healthy baby boy we have :)
